Music Therapy - English
She graduated at UQAM in 2000 and was Accredited in 2005.
Hélène Century practices music therapy for 16 years now in various setting and many different clients. After 8 years in early intervention with children with severe developmental issues, she worked mostly in mental health which has always particularly interested her and kept broadening her action towards elderly people in various types of caring institutions. She also worked in mental deficiency and in neonatology.
She sometimes wears 2 hats at the same time like when she does artist residencies like for instance with the projects "Judéo-Madrigal" & "Comptes de Fées" with a groupe of abused women at Auberge Shalom or the projects "Agir par l'imaginaire" & "Soma populi" at the Tanguay prison. There, she does not do therapy but her knowledge and expertise favor group cohesion and lead to poignant and meaningful créations.
